Rivertide Boatworks owner Mike Marino has been building, restoring and repairing wooden boats for the past 36 years.
Mike began his boatbuilding career as a teenager, taking classes with Sam Manning and Arno Day at the WoodenBoat School in Brooklin, Maine.
He continued his formal training at the International Boatbuilding Training Centre in Lowestoft, England.
He then worked for boatbuilders on the east and west coasts of the United States. He had the opportunity to work with Korchmar and Willner and Derecktor Shipyard, among others.
Mike lived and worked in France for many years and built and restored wooden boats in the Brittany and Normandy regions.
He opened his own business in 1997 in New York (the original name was Marine Woodworks Plus) and is now working with clients in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
